Position Overview: As a School Social Worker at Littleton School District, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall well-being of our students. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to provide essential services to students facing various social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Your role will be instrumental in promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment that enables all students to reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to address students' specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
  • Advocate for students' rights and ensure they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Offer crisis intervention services when needed and provide support during difficult situations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Promote a positive school climate through the implementation of programs and initiatives that address bullying prevention and social-emotional learning.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license in Social Work required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, families, and staff.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations related to special education and student support services.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
