Summer Maintenance Substitute Team - HSD Groundskeeper


JOB BASICS:


DEADLINE TO SEND IN LETTER OF INTEREST: FRIDAY, May 10, 2024

 

Location:      Facilities and Support Services

Term:         June 17, 2024 – August 29, 2024

All positions will be working a 5 day/8-hour work week: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

 

Orientation**:        Week of June 10th; date to be determined

** Orientation is MANDATORY. All Summer Crew employees will attend a virtual Orientation. You are paid to attend orientation. Assignments to be determined by June 1st based on the crew roster.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must successfully complete the hiring process including:
  • ESS application and paperwork
  • Fingerprinting
  • Acceptable pre-employment drug screen within 6 months of hire date (June 17, 2024)
  • Complete HSD and ESS Safe Schools online Training (paid)
  • Must be 18 years old before June 14, 2024
  • Must be able to work a 5 day/8-hour work week (total of 40 hours per week).
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license (preferred, but will accept unlicensed applicants)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to employer policies and procedures
  • Work harmoniously with fellow employees


GENERAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Performs grounds keeping duties, operating a variety of power tools and equipment
  • Mows lawns, prunes shrubs and trees
  • Operates light gas-powered automotive equipment
  • Loads, delivers and unloads supplies and equipment
  • Performs basic construction work in concrete, wood, metal, other applicable materials
  • Assists other skilled maintenance workers performing plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, construction, or repair work
  • Gym floor refinishing
  • Cleaning inside school buildings/property; lockers, moving classroom furniture.
